Background
The client discovered Xcel Energía while searching for an experienced solar installer in the Torrevieja area. The property was in the Cabo Cervera area – a region where we’ve completed many solar installations. After analysing their consumption patterns, Martin Hill completed an on-site assessment and reviewed energy usage throughout the day and night.
Their electricity bills previously averaged €150–€180 per month, and the main goal was to eliminate the bill entirely.
Because consumption increased during summer evenings, Martin recommended a 5kW Livoltek inverter paired with a 10kW battery. This was important to ensure that excess daytime generation could carry the property through nighttime use. With expected output and stored capacity, the system is forecast to reach break-even within 3–5 years.
Equipment Installed
- 12 × 535W Livoltek solar panels
- 1 × 5kW Livoltek all-in-one inverter
- 1 × 10kW Livoltek battery
- Roof mounting and fixing hardware
- AC/DC protection equipment
- Online monitoring setup
Installation
The panels were mounted across two separate pitched roof surfaces, both south-facing. The system was sized specifically to meet the client’s night-time draw, with the 10kW battery added to maximise self-consumption.
As with all Xcel Energía solar installations, we carefully planned cable routing and system layout to maintain a clean aesthetic while maximising energy yield throughout the day.
Results
Before installation, electricity usage cost the homeowner €150–€180 per month. With 12 panels generating high daily output and a 10kW battery storing surplus power, the system now eliminates the bill during most spring and summer months.
Thanks to a large battery bank and strong solar exposure at the property, the system is expected to achieve break-even within 3–5 years.
