Background
The client found Xcel Energía while searching for a trusted solar installer in the Rojales area. We’ve completed may installs there, especially in the Ciudad Quesada urbanisation that is popular with English-speaking expats. Following an initial conversation, Martin Hill conducted an on-site visit to assess roof space, shading and system sizing.
Their electricity bills previously averaged €130–€150 per month, and their goal was to eliminate the electricity bill while maintaining a reliable supply year-round. Martin provided a proposal for a cost-effective All-in-One Livoltek system projected to reach break-even within 3–5 years.
Equipment Installed
- 9 × 535W Livoltek solar panels
- 1 × 5kW Livoltek All-in-One inverter with battery storage
- 1 × 5kW Livoltek battery
- Roof mounting and fixing hardware
- AC/DC protection setup
- Online monitoring
Installation
The installation was completed on a south-facing section of pitched roof, split across two surfaces to maximise usable space.
Martin Hill identified two suitable roof planes, positioning 7 panels on one section and 2 on another to achieve the highest output possible within the available footprint.
Care was taken to protect the structure: no roof tiles were broken, and guttering was preserved during drilling and mounting work. Cables were routed cleanly to maintain a neat appearance both internally and externally.
As with all Xcel Energía solar installations, we carefully planned cable routing and system layout to maintain a clean aesthetic while maximising energy yield throughout the day.
Results
Before installation, the household spent €130–€150 per month on electricity. With the new 9-panel system and battery storage, the property now generates enough power to eliminate electricity bills for most of the year, with only peak-demand periods in mid-winter and high-consumption summer months requiring occasional grid support.
The system is expected to pay for itself within 3–5 years.
