Background
The client found Xcel Energía while researching trusted solar installer in the Rojales area options for smaller residential rooftops. We have completed many similar installations in Ciudad Quesada. After an initial phone call, Martin Hill carried out an on-site assessment to determine the most efficient panel placement given the property’s limited roof sections.
Their electricity bills averaged €70–€100 per month. The homeowner’s goal was to cut bills by up to 80% with a compact but high-performance installation. Thanks to strong solar exposure and efficient system sizing, the installation is expected to reach break-even within 3–4 years.
Equipment Installed
- 4 × 615W Livoltek solar panels
- 1 × 3.6kW Livoltek non-hybrid inverter
- Roof mounting structure
- AC/DC protection hardware
- Generation monitoring
Installation
Panels were installed on a pitched roof section above the first floor, positioned to receive strong south-facing sunlight throughout the day. With space being limited, Martin advised upgrading to higher-output 615W panels to maximise production from a smaller footprint. Two potential mounting areas were assessed, with the final layout chosen to achieve the best balance of efficiency and aesthetics.
All work was completed with care to ensure tiles and guttering remained intact, and cabling was routed discreetly to maintain a tidy finish.
Results
Prior to installation, the homeowner spent €70–€100 per month on electricity. The new system now covers most of the property’s daily usage, resulting in up to 80% bill reduction year-round, especially during shoulder seasons when solar generation comfortably exceeds demand.
Thanks to the high-efficiency panel choice and strategic placement, the system is expected to pay for itself within 3–4 years.
