Background
The client’s property is on the edge of the Torrevieja Centro neighbourhood, and found Xcel Energía while searching for a reliable solar installer in the Torrevieja area. After discussing their needs, Martin Hill conducted an on-site visit to assess energy usage, roof layout and installation suitability.
The homeowner wanted to reduce electricity bills and increase long-term energy independence. With expected yearly production and savings taken into account, the system is projected to achieve break-even within 3–5 years.
Equipment Installed
- 6 × Livoltek 615W solar panels
- 1 × 3.6kW Livoltek hybrid inverter
- Roof-mounted aluminium racking system
- AC/DC protection hardware & cabling
- Remote monitoring configuration
Installation
The installation was completed on a flat-roofed villa, using weighted mount structures to avoid roof penetration and maintain waterproofing. Grid-tied solar panels were positioned with the optimal tilt angle for year-round sun exposure, with tidy spacing and cable containment running discreetly to the inverter location.
As with all Xcel Energía solar installations, we carefully planned cable routing and system layout to maintain a clean aesthetic while maximising energy yield throughout the day.
Results
With six high-output panels and a 3.6kW hybrid inverter, the system now allows the property to generate a significant portion of its daily energy demand directly from the sun. Compared to the typical €100–€140 monthly bill range for similar homes, the customer is now able to offset a large share of grid usage.
The system is expected to pay for itself within 3–5 years, while continuing to produce clean energy long-term. The panels are angled on mounts to face the sun at the optimal orientation, allowing maximum performance across the seasons.
