Background
The client has a property in Mil Palmeras, and found Xcel Energía while searching for a trusted solar installer in the Pilar de la Horadada area. After an initial consultation, Martin Hill conducted an on-site visit to assess the property’s suitability for solar generation and battery storage.
The homeowner’s electricity costs ranged between €140–€180 per month, and their main goal was to reduce electricity bills and achieve greater control over energy usage. With projected system output and storage capacity, the installation is expected to reach break-even within 4–5 years.
Equipment Installed
- 9 × 615W Livoltek solar panels
- 1 × Livoltek 5kW all-in-one inverter system
- 1 × 5kW Livoltek battery with emergency power supply (EPS backup box)
- AC/DC protection equipment and rooftop mounting system
- Monitoring and smart energy management configuration
Installation
The system was installed on a flat-roofed villa, with panels securely mounted to ensure optimal exposure to the sun throughout the day. The layout was designed to maximise production while maintaining a clean visual line, with cabling routed discreetly to the battery and inverter location.
As with all Xcel Energía solar installations, we carefully planned cable routing and system layout to maintain a clean aesthetic while maximising energy yield throughout the day.
Results
With the combination of rooftop PV generation and battery storage, the homeowner has dramatically reduced grid dependency. Given their previous electricity usage of €140–€180 per month, the system now covers the majority of demand across spring, summer and autumn, with surplus energy stored for later use. This level of production enables significant bill reduction and near self-sufficiency for much of the year.
This system is expected to pay for itself within 4–5 years, while continuing to deliver long-term financial and environmental benefits. The installation sits flat-mounted on the roof with no shading, ensuring consistent power output and reliable performance throughout the day.
